This half-day Dementia Awareness course is designed to help professionals working in health and social care settings develop a stronger understanding of dementia and how to provide effective, person-centred support.
Dementia affects each individual differently, and recognising this is key to providing respectful and meaningful care. This course explores the various types of dementia, the common symptoms and behaviours, and how to adapt communication and care approaches to meet the needs of each person.
Participants will also gain insight into the emotional, psychological, and social impact of dementia, as well as common challenges such as sundowning and behaviour changes.
